Make the System Fit Your Style: I like lots of color, some folks do not. Do you do best with things alphabetically or by categories? Decide what you want within easy reach and what can be up on a bookshelf or wall shelf, file cabinet, etc. I would not give up my rolling chair for a pony! Everything I need is normally within reach which minimizes my getting up and down. Phone system, computer and most common files use with excellent lighting are a must for me.
Do you want a simple and fairly clear office or lots of plans and a lived in but organized approach. Does your room welcome you to stay in it? Some folks will want a coffee pot or tea pot; I need my munchies bin of healthy snacks.
Organization is an ongoing organic process: As your work from home based business develops, so will your understandings of your needs. Functionality will be your ongoing priority.
